GNS Safety and Health
At GNS Trailers Inc. employees are our most valuable asset and we are committed to giving health and safety matters the highest priority in all of our activities. We ensure employee safety goes beyond the implementation and compliance of regulations, policies, procedures and safety audits. Our commitment to safety does not end with our employees, it also includes the safety of all others who may be directly or indirectly involved within any of our operations. Further, it is the policy of the company that GNS Trailers will comply with all local, provincial and federal legislation relating to health and safety. Responsibility for such compliance will rest with the entire team of GNS Trailers.
This is accomplished through our comprehensive Health & Safety Program and compliance reporting system. All GNS employees and contractors recognize that health and safety is a fundamental and integral part of everyday business. We require that all employees, contractors, visitors and any others who may be affected by our operations share this commitment by complying with our policies and procedures, and to understand that they too have legal and moral obligations to themselves and to one another.
Safety in the workplace is fundamental to meeting the objective of satisfying customer requirements and the goal of achieving better business results. The continued scrutiny by all managers and supervisors ensures the program is effective and successful. Throughout our entire organization, safety is a culture that consists of shared beliefs, practices and attitudes. GNS Trailers are proud participants in the Partners in Reduction COR Program, IRP16 as well the ISNetworld Vendor Management System.
Our health and safety program provides:
- Assigned individual responsibilities;
- On-going employee orientation, competency, education, communications and certification standards;
- Undertaking extensive safety inspections and hazard assessments;
- Safety guidelines that focus on reducing the risk of accidents and/or incidents in all activities;
- Detailed incident investigations including reporting and corrective actions;
- Job specific safe work practices and procedures;
- Equipment operating and maintenance procedures;
- Committing to use only the most modern and up-to-date equipment available;
- Adhering to stringent guidelines with respect to compliance and regulations; and
- Measurement and improvement through rigorous self-evaluation.
